The reason for the accomodation and event service offered, hotels are places where people enter and exit intensely.
For places such as hotels, guesthouses where the human density is higher than other places, special regulations has been established in case of fire. In accordance with the Regulations; room entrance doors, corridor doors, emergency exit doors, shaft lids and doors has to be 30,60 or 90 minutes fire resistant according to the purpose of use.
In the above images (image 3, image 4), you can see the fire-resistant wick both on the leaf of the door and in the frame. Wick is found in the leaf both on the sides and on the top. At the bottom of the door leaf in image 1, you can see the fire resistant guillotine.
During a possible fire, the wich swells by the heat on the sides of the leaf, and prevents the smoke from passing through the leaf and the frame. At the bottom of the door leaf the guillotine does the same task.
In accordance with fire regulations, in buildings where 50 or more people come together either for ceremonies, weddings, or only for eating and drinking; it is necessary to use fire-resistant doors and fire-resistant shaft covers. The same conditions apply for boutique hotels, motels and all other places with over 50 people capacity.
Zone doors, doors are that separates predetermined fire zones from each other in the hotel and makes it available to pass between fire zones. Zone doors are usually single-sided double-leaf doors, in some cases double-sided double-leaf doors. Fire resistance of such doors is determined as 60 or 90 minutes.
Protection of buildings from the side is mentioned in article 25 of the regulations. Accordingly, it is clearly stated that the shaft covers must have a fire resistance for at least 90 minutes.
